Before the au pair starts living with you there is a lot to be arranged and taken care of. Besides, you as a host family as well as the Au pair agency (referent) have a duty of care towards the au pair. Duty of care means that the both of you make sure that the au pair can enjoy her stay in a safe and pleasant way and will be able to fully and carefree enjoy her cultural exchange.
